In ‘X’ I wanted to draw parallels between meeting a girl in a party like environment and going through emotions with her that were like a drug, like ecstasy. This is one of the first songs I wrote of the EP and at the time there were a lot of ideas for lyrics that were coming in a stream of consciousness so I put them in the song. Lyrics like ‘She on the other side of the X what comes after that? Two lines that can change everything, take one and pass it around’. That was fun to write because I’m describing two situations at the same time which to me is dope, its very visual as well that was one of my goals from the outset to make the lyrics scenarios you could envisage.
